Meet Your Therapist
Kimberly Pegg, MM, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC
Hi! I am a speech therapy in the greater Boston area who graduated with my MS Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northeastern University. Prior to becoming an SLP, I studied voice performance at Tulane University, earning a BFA, and furthered my musical background at the University of Mississippi, earning an MS Voice Performance and pedagogy. I spent several years working as an opera singer in the Boston areas before discovering the perfect blend of my interests in health sciences and music: Speech-Language Pathology.
I am a dedicated speech therapy with a background working in acute care, long-term and short-term rehabilitation, outpatient, and the specialized private practice setting. I founded Lark and Lantern Therapy because of a desire to meet the unique needs of adults and children with voice and swallowing problems, among a myriad other diagnoses, in a holistic, patient-first manner.
Sessions focus on relationship building in order to support and empower clients along his or her unique, therapeutic journeys. Each client’s unique background, culture, experiences, and values influence the care and treatment plans. By understanding who a patient is, therapy becomes easier and more meaningful.
In terms of lactation counseling, my journey with my first child was difficult and exhausting, and I was so frustrated by the outdated education and support I recevied. As a result, I pursued education and certification in lactation support in order to use both my speech therapy and breastfeeding knowledge to help mothers and babies with unique feeding and swallowing needs. The birth of a new child is already a huge change, and feeding and bonding with that child should not be something a new mother worried about.
Outside of my work, I love spending time with my family, reading a good book, hiking the Blue Hills, singing and playing music, and enjoying all the things that make Boston and the surrounding areas have to offer.
